If you are experiencing Hitching in Batman: Arkham Knight on Windows 8 or 10, we suggest adding an exclusion to Windows Defender for the Batman Arkham Knight folder. This will prevent untimely scans of the game directory by Windows Defender during game play which will reduce hitching. This will have the biggest impact after installing the Season of Infamy DLC, but in some cases may also improve overall performance, especially on the first launch after the game data has been updated.
For information on adding exclusions to Windows Defender, please see the links below. The game folder can typically be found at “C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Batman Arkham Knight”.
