Injustice 2: Legendary Edition - Physical Release Installation

A physical version of the Injustice 2: Legendary Edition Bundle was made available in March of 2018 for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. For a breakdown of what specific content is included in this bundle click here.

Unlike previous physically released versions of the game (Standard, Deluxe, or Ultimate Editions), the Injustice 2: Legendary Edition does not have a redeem code voucher for add-on content inside of the game case so there is no code redemption required to complete the installation process. This version of the game contains a single game disc with add-on content included on that disc as part of the overall install. 

In this article, we'll cover the steps for installing the content on PlayStation 5 (via backwards compatibility), PlayStation 4, and Xbox (One and Series X|S) platforms. We've also included some steps on how to utilize Premiere Skins that are part of the bundle.

PlayStation 5 Installation

1. Insert the game disc. The PS5 console will automatically start the installation and any available update files will download. You will see the installation progress indicated on the screen. 
   
2. You can monitor the installation progress by pressing the PlayStation logo button on your Dualsense Controller, and choosing the Downloads/Uploads icon. At the 10.381 GB point, you'll receive a "Ready to Play" notification on your PS5 console and be able to start the game.
   
   
   
3. Some modes and content will not be available immediately, as there are installations will continue after launching the game. The message "Estimated Time Until Available: (time)" is viewable in-game when highlighting certain modes or characters. 
   
   We suggest playing Single Player -> Single Fight against AI or any other mode that is not displayed in red while the rest of the game is being installed as this process might take some time to complete. Some characters may still need to install as well, this will be indicated by the red icon on the character select screen. The Character that displays a white installation icon is currently in-progress.
   
4. You can continue to monitor the overall installation progress in your Downloads/Uploads under the Downloads/Copies tab, found by pressing the PS button on your Dualsense Controller.
   
   
   

PlayStation 4 Installation

1. Insert the game disc. The PS4 console will automatically start the installation and any available update files will download.
2. After the update has finished downloading, launch Injustice 2: Legendary Edition.
3. Some modes and content will not be available immediately, as there are installations will continue after launching the game. While there will not be any notification regarding the remaining download/installation in the PS4 Console UI, the message "Estimated Time Until Available: (time)" is viewable in-game when highlighting certain modes or characters. 
   
   
   
   We suggest playing Single Player -> Single Fight against AI or any other mode that is not displayed in red while the rest of the game is being installed as this process might take some time to complete. Some characters may still need to install as well, this will be indicated by the red icon on the character select screen. The Character that displays a white installation icon is currently in-progress.
   
   
   
   

Xbox Installation

1. Insert the game disc. The Xbox console will automatically start the installation and any available update files will download or a prompt will appear to approve the download. You can monitor the installation by going to "My games & apps" and selecting Manage -> Queue.
   
   
2. After the update has finished downloading and the installation has reached a certain point (35%) you will receive a notification that the game is "Ready to Start".
3. If you launch Injustice 2: Legendary Edition now, some modes and content will not be available immediately, as there are installations will continue after launching the game. The message "Estimated Time Until Available: (time)" is viewable in-game when highlighting certain modes or characters.
   
   
   We suggest playing Single Player -> Single Fight against AI or any other mode that is not displayed in red while the rest of the game is being installed as this process might take some time to complete. 4. You can continue to monitor the overall installation progress by returning to "My games & apps" and selecting Manage -> Queue. After the game itself has finished installing, remaining content in the queue such as add-on playable characters and Legendary Edition Unlocks will also install. If you need to remove the game disc at any point, do not do so until the queue has completely cleared of Injustice 2 content. If the disc is removed before the entire process is completed, this will result in an incomplete installation or missing add-on characters.

Equipping Premiere Skins

To use Premiere Skins that you've obtained from your Injustice 2: Legendary Edition Bundle, you will need to equip them to a loadout.

From the main menu, go to:

1. Customize Characters
2. Select the character you want to use a Premiere Skin for.
3. Select a Loadout Number
4. Select the last option on the Loadout screen for Shaders
5. Select the Shader for the Premiere skin you want to use
6. Save your loadout by exiting the Loadout screen and selecting Yes when prompted to save your Loadout

When you are on the character select screen, you can now press the X (Xbox One) or Square (PlayStation 4) button to bring up Loadout selection. Selecting the Loadout you saved will apply the Premier Skin you selected, and you will see the name of your selected character change.

What is included in the free content update available in conjunction with the Injustice 2: Legendary Edition release?

On March 27th 2018, all versions of Injustice 2 received a free title update changing the name of the game to Injustice 2: Legendary Edition in the game and console menus. This free content addition includes the Learn Hub (an expanded Tutorial), new gear items, a raised character level cap (level 30), and a new augment slot at level 30. Please note, the Injustice 2: Legendary Edition physical package or digital bundle will still need to be purchased in order to access the 10 additional Playable Characters and 4 Premiere Skins. If you own the physical disc, this can be identified by the Gold art on the box and the disc itself and "Legendary Edition" branding.
