This post expresses my issues I have with the game currently and my ideas on what I think could improve it. First off, I have a major issue with how fragments work in this game. Yeah I know, it’s a free to play mobile game and they need to make money and it can be satisfying working hard to make the characters stronger and becoming more powerful; however, shards in this game is a grind and it tends to make the game boring and unsatisfying. What’s that? You don’t have a strong team and you worked really hard to beat a fight on heroic? Congratulations, you have won 1 shards, some gears and some coins. You can also skip if you get three stars but you can only play a fight 3 times to get 3 shards... out of amounts reaching 160 shards. Did no one really see the problem with this? Stores are also underwhelming. You pay 90 or more power gems, 50 battle tokens and 100/200 raid tokens for... 5 shards. Really? It’s not fun nor rewarding. People have things to do in their lives and paying for a full character with added bonuses aren’t everyone’s priority and it feels like the one’s that want to work hard for their rewards are punished for it severely.
So here’s my solution. Normal battles you have a chance to get 1-3 shards. Heroic battles, if you get a one star victory, then you’ll receive a shard. If you get a 2 star victory then you get 3 shards. If you get 3 stars then you get 5 shards. This rewards players for being good at playing, encourages players that aren’t strong enough to get stronger, and makes getting the characters more powerful less of a chore. Also boost the amount of shards available in stores. Have 20 shards in the main store that costs power gems, 10 shards in the arena stores and 30 shards for Raid stores. 200 raid tokens for 5 shards is a rip off especially with how difficult it can be to get them compared to the others.
Stores also need to be fixed. The luck based randomness of chests is really annoying. The free chests is fine. But come one, it get really frustrating when you are spending 300 power gems because you want to get Warrior Queen Wonder Woman or Black Adam to end up with some Gorilla Grodd shards who you may never use. Make them like Injustice 1 again where you could have a random chest for a challenge character or something. Yeah it might not be the challenge character you wanted but you would always get a character from the challenges. Have chests that give you either one character or the other like Dark Supergirl or Nightwing but you’ll end up with one of those characters. Have silver chests for people that want to majorly upgrade their silver characters. Just stop punishing those who want to play legitimately. You’re punishing players that don’t want to spend real money which is infuriating.
Which leads to another money issue that Injustice 2 has. Why the hell is some characters only available if you buy them with real currency? Why are some characters mostly unavailable? Firestorm, he had a daily event to get his shards when he was first put on Injustice 2 mobile MONTHS AGO and hasn’t been available since. Suicide Squad Harley Quinn, BVS Superman, Amazon Wonder Woman and Mystic Wonder Woman (who was on the events about once) have been locked behind payments. Some characters are locked by “event evasions” and it’s the only way to get them. Batman Ninja Harley Quinn, Justice League Cyborg, Classic Superman are available through this limited and rare occurrence. Justice League Cyborg you can buy from the store, sure but if you want to get someone like Batman Ninja Harley Quinn then you better hope that Netherrealm decide to activate her evasion and hope that she decides to evade the battle to even get any closer to unlocking her. That’s not really fun or enjoyable, just put them in stores as an added option. Same goes for Grid’s gears, honestly, I don’t now how you’re supposed to unlock the other three gears before they added them to raid rewards which is also luck based without actually buying it. Also is Marksman Deadshots gears available to unlock anymore?
Finally, I am not particularly fond of the stamina system. I feel like it should be change to how Injustice 1 worked it or just have the stamina removed for modes like challenge mode and the level up events that include credits. I don’t see the point since you only get three attempts at the level up events anyway and challenge events are nothing like Injustice 1 where now you only play 6 battles in it without spending power gems to get more attempts out of it. It’s basically there so you get even less out of the campaign mode which you already get little out of it anyway in terms of “rewards”.
That’s it for now in terms of my thoughts about the game. Hopefully, this gets at least considered. I want to enjoy the game but the grinding takes me out of it. I enjoy the multiplayer since it’s the best way to upgrade characters but that’s not saying much. The players should be playing the game often because they have fun with the game and want to get better not because they have to keep playing just to see what else the other characters offer.
